Deze kwalitatief hoogwaardige netwerkkabel is uitgevoerd met een bescherming van de RJ45-connectorclips tegen beschadiging tijdens installaties. De kabel zal daardoor minder snel blijven haken bij bijvoorbeeld het trekken van de kabel door een buis of muur.  De kabel is ook voorzien van gegoten PVC-trekontlasting die voorkomt dat de aansluitpunten van de RJ45-connectoren onder een scherpe hoek kunnen worden verbogen.
Dit verlaagt het risico op beschadiging aan de kabel wat de netwerkprestaties nadelig zou kunnen beïnvloeden.

StarTech network cables have conductors made of 100% high-quality copper for maximum quality, durability and reliability. The network cable is equipped with 0.5 mm thick (24AWG) high-quality copper wire and is therefore very capable of supplying the required power when using Power over Ethernet. StarTech does not use conductors made of copper-plated aluminum (CCA) or steel (CCS), which are often used in cheaper network cables, which therefore have much lower quality, reliability and durability and may cause problems in, for example, Power over Ethernet applications.

This network cable has high-quality connections with 50 micron gold plating, for optimal conduction and less signal loss due to oxidation or corrosion.

Deze StarTech netwerkkabel is niet afgeschermd door folie (UTP: Unshielded Twisted Pair). Afgeschermde kabel (zoals FTP en STP) is alleen aan te raden in situaties waar veel elektromagnetische interferentie, zoals van zware industriële elektromotoren, te verwachten is.
Door sterk verbeterde elektrische producten is gebruik van duurderde afgeschermde kabel in bijna iedere andere omgeving overbodig en kan afgeschermde netwerkkabel bij onjuist aangelegde netwerkinstallaties zelfs nadelig werken.
