De Hikvision HWI-B440HA HiWatch geeft beelden weer in een Full HD 2560×1440 resolutie. De camera heeft een ingebouwd automatisch IR-cut filter en is daarmee een echte dag/nacht camera. In donkere omstandigheden kan de camera de ingebouwde IR verlichting inschakelen waardoor er zelfs in volledige duisternis (0 Lux) een haarscherp beeld is. De IR verlichting heeft een bereik van maar liefst 50 meter. De camera beschikt over digitale Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).

The 2.8mm lens has a horizontal angle of view of 104 degrees. The security camera from the HiWatch series features, among other things, privacy masking and the most modern technology for motion detection, also called Motion Detection 2.0. This makes the camera able to distinguish between humans and animals. In addition, false alarms are also minimized by this technology.

Images can be stored on a Network Video Recorder (NVR), among other things. The camera has not about the possibility of recording in the camera on a microSD memory card.

Hikvision has a free mobile app available for Apple iOS and Android. The camera has an internal web server that can be viewed and managed using a web browser. De Hikvision HWI-B440HA HiWatch heeft een IP67 rating waardoor de camera uitermate geschikt is voor gebruik buiten. De behuizing van de camera is van metaal en kunststof. Voor installatiegemak kan de camera via de netwerkkabel worden gevoed met Power over Ethernet (standaard 802.3af POE). PoE kan worden verkregen door een PoE NVR, een PoE switch of met een PoE injector. De camera kan ook worden gevoed met een optionele 12VDC voeding adapter. Onder het tabblad ‘Opties’ kan worden aangegeven of een adapter moet worden meegeleverd.
