The StarTech network cable meets all Cat6 specifications for a reliable Gigabit network connection and features 100% copper conductors and a durable PVC sheath. The network cables are available in various colors and lengths.

Characteristics

This high-quality network cable is equipped with protection of the RJ45 connector clips against damage during installations. The cable is therefore less likely to get stuck when, for example, pulling the cable through a pipe or wall. The cable also features molded PVC strain relief that prevents the terminals of the RJ45 connectors from being bent at sharp angles. This reduces the risk of cable damage that could adversely affect network performance.

StarTech network cables have conductors made of 100% high-quality copper for maximum quality, durability and reliability. The network cable is equipped with 0.5 mm thick (24AWG) high-quality copper wire and is therefore very capable of supplying the required power when using Power over Ethernet. StarTech does not use conductors made of copper-plated aluminum (CCA) or steel (CCS), which are often used in cheaper network cables, which therefore have much lower quality, reliability and durability and may cause problems in, for example, Power over Ethernet applications.

This network cable has high-quality connections with 50 micron gold plating, for optimal conduction and less signal loss due to oxidation or corrosion.

This StarTech network cable is not shielded by foil (UTP: Unshielded Twisted Pair). Shielded cable (such as FTP and STP) is only recommended in situations where a lot of electromagnetic interference, such as from heavy industrial electric motors, is expected. Strongly improved electrical products have made the use of more expensive shielded cable unnecessary in almost every other environment and shielded network cable can even have a detrimental effect in incorrectly constructed network installations.
